When one door closes, another one opens. I closed the door to my business for the last time in 2011, which left me with a decision. What now? Find another location and move my nutrition business, go to work for someone else, or take a chance on my dream? I chose the latter and I’ve never looked back!
I’ve always loved reading and writing, but it wasn’t until I jumped in with both feet and decided writing would be my career, instead of just a hobby, that my muse woke up from her deep slumber.

It was like someone flipped a switch inside my head and stories just came pouring out. At the end of the day, I would often look at the keyboard and wonder, ‘Who the heck wrote that? ‘Cause I’m pretty sure it wasn’t me!’

I don’t write books. I tell stories, or rather, I allow my characters to tell their stories through me. I’m not a plotter, never have been, never will be. Why? Because I have no idea how the story will evolve and it’s not my place to manipulate it. My job is to get to know these characters, figure out what makes them tick, then follow their journey wherever it takes me.

When I’m not writing, I’m daydreaming. Thankfully, I have an understanding husband and son who know I’ll re-join the land of the living just as soon as my muse decides it’s quitting time. I don’t work for myself. I work for her. She’s the boss. And I’m okay with that.

WLK Author Bio

Sarah Marsh - Logo

The Coalition Mates series is a science fiction romance with a liberal amount of humour thrown in, my goal with these books was to create something light and fun, with a good bit of grumble and grunt… who doesn’t enjoy that right?

I’ll tell you a little about myself before the book excerpts. I live in British Columbia, Canada; I have all my life. I went to culinary school and studied Pastry Arts, working as a Pastry Chef in Vancouver for five years. But the commute into the city got to me and I had to change careers back to an office. I still work full time; I now work for a sporting goods wholesaler in accounting…which is where my twitchy creative side began to get restless…and as my Baba used to say, “Idle hands are the Devils playthings.” Or in my case, idle hands get me into all sorts of trouble; so I go a little bananas on the hobby side of things. I still love to cook and bake, I do a large amount of recipe creating and the boys at work certainly appreciate being sacrificed as taste testers. I am also a stress knitter, to the point that I had to open my own Etsy shop to unload some of the scarves I make. Realistically there’re only so many scarves a gal can make and keep for herself before people start to judge you…. I also paint when the muse hits me, mostly abstract in acrylics. I love to garden and grow things, have a weakness for all animals, and an un-natural obsession for making jam. I literally made 24 different kinds of jam last summer, it’s a bit of a problem….but there’s just so many different kinds you can create! Who am I to say no to see what Tiger’s Blood jam would taste like? (it’s strawberry, watermelon and coconut by the way….and it was AMAZEBALLS.)

I’ve always had a love of reading, science fiction and paranormal genres have always fascinated me, so once I found myself addicted to romance novels it really only made sense that the sci fi romance genre drew me like a moth to a flame. I only started writing about a year ago, it took me a long time to get Sarah’s Crew to the point where I would let someone else read what I was writing, let alone send it into a publisher. But eventually I did and after one fairly nice rejection I moved on and found Siren. I’ve been so impressed at how supportive and helpful all the other Siren authors have been through this entire process, I’m a little on the shy side so the social media and marketing part of the writing process has been intimidating to say the least. My goal is to keep working on my writing skills and to hopefully improve with each book, and I hope that anyone who reads them enjoys the world that I’m trying to create!

Excerpt

I barged into Deacon’s office at eight o’clock that evening. Since his silver Lamborghini was one of the few cars left in the parking lot, I wasn’t too concerned about interrupting a meeting.

He looked up from his computer when I stormed in, and a smile quickly replaced his scowl.

“They let you in without clearance?”

I plopped down in the seat across from him, trying not to notice how tempting he lookedwith his sleeves rolled up and no tie on.

“The receptionist who usually guards your castle left for the day, and the security guard at the front desk has a crush on me, so he didn’t ask any questions.”

He frowned. “Which security guard is that?”

I spotted a stress ball on the corner of his desk. I doubted he used it; it looked like a promo item Alabaster’s gave away. I whipped it at his chest.

“You’re not serious.”

He laughed, catching the ball before it hit him. “You have a pretty good arm.”

“Shut up, Deacon!”

The nagging voice in the back of my head reminded me I was talking to my boss, but I told her to mind her own goddamn business and go back to sleep.

“I’m pissed at you.”
He leaned back, kicking his feet up on the desk as he tossed the ball from one hand to the other and squeezed it.

“Do tell.”

“You told Eleni about us.”

“So?”

“So you had no right to do that!”

He seemed totally unfazed by my anger, which only incensed me further.

“She’s my friend. I should have been the one to tell her, when—or if—I decided there was anything worth telling her.”

That got his attention. When he pinned me with that hot gaze, I feared he would demand I bend over the desk and take my punishment like a brave girl.

“I asked you not to tell anyone, including Eleni. You didn’t, and I appreciate that. Now that you’re single, I’ve decided it’s time your best friend know about our… relationship.”

The way he said relationship made me feel as though he had been seeking a different wordbut come up short. Arrangement, perhaps? Was that what this was to him?

Not willing to let him have the last word, I said, “We’re not in a relationship. We’re still getting to know each other. If I like what I see, I might agree to date you, though not exclusively.

I’ve been tied down too long to get serious again so soon.” I swallowed, averting my eyes when the thin skin across his knuckles turned white from the pressure he was inflicting on the ball.

“Let me get this straight. You might agree to date me—though not exclusively?”

I was almost afraid to push him further, but if I backed down, that would set a precedent for all future arguments.

“That’s right. If you have a problem with that, we can part ways now and—”

He planted his feet on the floor and made his way around the desk slowly, like a panther preparing to devour its prey. He gripped the armrests of my chair, his face a fraction of an inch from mine. I held my breath—waiting, praying, and trying to predict what he might do next.

Pushing him had been a very bad idea.

“You really think that’s an option?” he whispered.

Deacon Teaser 1

DamonDamon – Book 2

Eleni Litras recognized a kindred spirit when she saw one. Damon loved to have a good time, was allergic to commitment, and was honest to a fault. He wasn’t afraid to speak his mind, even if it meant raising a few eyebrows. She loved that about him. In fact, she feared she may be falling in love with him. But her tragic upbringing taught her trust was a filthy four letter word.
Damon Starkis partied like a rock star most of his life, with little regard for consequences. That was one of the many advantages of being born to a billionaire. But when he got news that rocked his world, he had a choice… grow up or risk losing out on the opportunity of a lifetime. Change didn’t come easily, but he was proud of his new life and the man he’d become, except for one little problem. The secrets and lies were piling up and if Eleni found out, she’d never forgive him.

Excerpt

The smell of bacon and coffee wakes me from the best night of sleep I’ve ever had. Muscles I didn’t even know existed are screaming their protest as I stretch against the cool sheets. The other side of the mattress where Nate slept mere hours ago is vacant, but the smells coming from the kitchen tell me he isn’t too far away.

My mind fills with memories of Nate waking me up in the very early morning. He was gentle as he worshiped my body, bringing me to orgasm no less than twice that time, too. My body is singing as I climb out of bed and reach for a shirt. Nate’s shirt from last night is thrown on the end of the bed along with all of the clothes we were both wearing yesterday, so I slide the big shirt over my head and walk into the hall to the bathroom. The shirt still smells deliciously like Nate. It’s all musky and rich with just a hint of sweat. I can’t help but run my nose along the cotton material as I inhale deeply yet again.

After using the bathroom and brushing my teeth, I head out to the kitchen to see what kind of deliciousness Nate has cooked up. My stomach growls loudly as I turn the corner and stop dead in my tracks. The sight before me is so damn sexy that I can’t even laugh at how comical it is.

Nate stands at my stove, frying bacon, and wearing nothing but my white apron. And I mean nothing but my apron. The ties are wrapped around his lean waist and tied around his amazing lower back. Muscles move and strain as he works the tongs, flipping the bacon.

Nate’s back is a-freaking-mazing! There is no other word to describe it. I’ve never seen anything like it before in my life. I had no clue that definition and muscles like that existed. The tribal designed tattoo spread across his shoulder blades is dark with hard lines and looks so astounding stretched across his taut muscles.

But the muscles of his ass are what hold my attention right now. I wish I had a quarter because I’m pretty sure I could bounce it off his rear and get some serious air. Below his butt are the most well-defined, muscled thighs and calves I’ve ever seen. They scream power as he stands there in front of my stove.

I will never be able to wear that apron again. The mental image I will carry with me for the rest of my life of Nate wearing it this morning is something I will never, ever forget. It’ll be one of the happiest memories I will cherish as I continue to move from place to place, searching for the life I know is out there. One that makes me feel safe and sound. One that is so very close to how I feel with Nate.

He moves towards the skillet, grabs the spatula, and flips what appears to be French toast. I have died and gone to heaven. I don’t know when it happened, but there is no way this is actually happening in real life.

“Hey,” he says with a huge grin and sparkling eyes, breaking me from the trance of my private thoughts.

“Huh?” I ask, wondering how long he’s been talking to me and I’ve been staring at his bare ass.

“Enjoying the view?” he asks with another hint of laughter.

“I never thought my apron would look so good,” I reply with pinked cheeks.

“Well, bacon grease isn’t something you want splattering in this region,” he says waving a hand at his white apron covered package. A package that is thickening and saluting me before my lust-filled eyes.

“Breakfast first, beautiful,” Nate says with a smirk, drawing my gaze back up to his handsome face.

“Are you sure?” I ask, walking towards him and stopping right in front of him. I run my hands up his bare chest and along his well-defined shoulders.

Nate clears his throat before replying, “Yes. You need food.” He leans forward and kisses me square on the lips. “And energy for what’s going to happen as soon as I take my shirt back,” he says with a wink.

Review: This story is extremely short at only 13 pages. I really didn’t get what was going on very well and was a bit confused in the beginning. It did finally unravel and had a happy ending. The story was ok and if you want something that only takes a few minutes to read you may like this. If you like spells, short stories, sort of dark, with a happy ending this is for you.

For me it was just OK.

Review: Oh my. What a story. I loved parts of it while other made me laugh with incredulity and some simply made me cringe, they were so cheesy I couldn’t stand them. A weird mix really.

Let’s start with the story shall we? We have a Fae half-blood Princess betrothed to a Lykae Prince who disregards their engagement and marries another woman while lying to his brother and King of the Lykae clans that he resolved his engagement and keeps the gold and jewelry he’s supposed to give to the Fae King for dissolving the engagement for himself.
The result of all that; War!

But the half-human half Fae Princess Silvie has other plans. She decides to attend the wedding and pretend she is ok with it so her brother won’t go on full-fledged war. She didn’t count on the Lykae King though, who believed his brothers lies of her and thought she was only a manipulative bitch who used her body and sexuality to get trinkets and gold and money.

The result of that, Locked in a tower in the otherworld and sexually “punished” until she begged to be given release…
Oh God. Really, the plot was ludicrous. I couldn’t believe what I was reading most of the times and the dialogues, good Heaven, they couldn’t be cheesier. It really plunged the entire plot down earth and had me face palm myself way too many times.

But, there were funny parts there as well and some seriously wicked bloody scenes I simply can’t ignore. Those slashing paws, blood-dripping fangs, and awesome push-kicks were simply marvelous. So much so, that if it weren’t for the dialogues and the repetition of phrases and the constant inner thoughts that drove me crazy, I’d have rated this way higher.

As it is, if you don’t mind the above I suggest you give it a shot. The erotic part of this book was intense and hot enough and the action story quite decent. I’m just too picky when it comes to the balance between romantic and overly sweet/sappy.

Review: A Most Unlikely Countess is book 2 of the To Love a Wildcat series. It works fine as a stand-alone, but be warned you will want to read book one to find out more about Viviana and Alain. This book is such a fun read. Liz isn’t your ordinary heroine. She is shy, withdrawn and pretty much Emo. She hides behind her hair and her image that she hopes scares people away from her. She works in her basement office doing obituaries. Her friend Viviana from book one got Liz a job offer to write Viekko Aho’s Biography. Liz’s mother has a mental illness and Liz finds it hard to leave her, but Viekko is persistent and tells her to bring her mother and her Gnomes along. Viekko is also a very hot main man. He is not only hot and sexy but a very kind sweet man.

I loved how V.L. tells her stories with such wit and humour. It’s so sweet, very hot and sexy and a laugh a minute.

I highly recommend this is you live Ice Hockey, hot Goalies, ferrets, Gnomes, Gothic girls, body piercings, and an all-over hot, sexy , fun, humorous romance.
